2025 ATAS Charter Review

Your Voice. Your Industry. Your Impact.

The 2025 ATAS Charter Review provided an opportunity for the travel industry to recommend changes to the ATAS Charter to strengthen the scheme and ensure ATAS remains relevant, credible, and valuable to our industry and to consumers.

We received valuable input from accredited businesses, members of the travel industry, consumer advocates and sector partners.

Why this review was important:
The last review in 2022 proved how powerful your voice can be. A number of critical reforms were made following the submissions received including:

  • Mandatory client accounts to better protect consumer funds
  • A requirement of externally prepared financial statements, lifting financial standards
  • A new advisory committee to improve industry representation
  • Governance and transparency enhancements to build greater public trust

These reforms now form the foundation of a stronger, more accountable accreditation program - because people like you spoke up!
